Beware, The Blood Type A Vulnerable To Coronavirus Disease - A study of scientists in China said that blood type A people are more susceptible to contracting the coronavirus. While those who have blood type O are more immune than the virus.
Scientists from Wuhan University who examined 2000 patients infected with the coronavirus turned out to have blood type A indicating a higher infection rate.
"People with blood type A may need more protection so they are not infected. While patients with blood type A who are infected are thought to need more aggressive treatment," wrote Wang Xinghuan, who led the study.
Although the research is still in its infancy and more in-depth research is needed, scientists say that the government and hospitals should begin to pay attention to the blood type of patients when treating people with Covid-19.
Of the 206 patients killed by Covid-19 in Wuhan, 85 of them belonged to A group of 63 percent and 52 others were blood type O. The pattern did not change in various age groups and sexes.
The study itself still needs to be evaluated and the researchers themselves warn that the results of their analysis are still at risk if it must be implemented in practice in the medical world which states that blood type A is susceptible to coronavirus disease.
