New York Governor Orders Lockdown Due To Coronavirus COVID-19

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo officially ordered a lockdown in his area. All non-essential local businesses are asked to close temporarily if they don't want to be fined.

This policy starts on Sunday, March 22, 2020, at 20:00. The security forces have also been prepared to maintain order.

Cases of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) in New York have reached more than five thousand people, and 242 people have died. Inevitably this has an impact on New York City, which is the center of finance and art in the United States.

"I want to say to the people of New York (that) I did everything we could," Governor Cuomo was quoted as saying by the New York Post on Saturday (3/21/2020). "And if everything we do saves one real, I will be happy," he said.

The lockdown effect in New York is an order for non-essential government employees and private employees to work from home. Outdoor activities, such as team sports, are also prohibited.

Non-essential businesses must be closed. If the business stays open or has employees work during the lockdown, then the government will be fined.

Some businesses still have to open, namely shopping, drug stores, laundry, and gas stations. Restaurants that provide take-out and delivery services may always be open.

Transportation services such as the subway are still allowed to open.

Governor Cuomo promised to keep the rights of his people, but they must remember that the situation was complicated. Previously, the state of California also implemented a lockdown due to COVID-19.

US President Donald Trump supports the lockdown taken by the two states.

"They are taking firm steps, and I support them," Trump said at the White House.

The California government formally applies a lockdown due to the Coronavirus COVID-19 (COVID-19). Communities are ordered to remain at home unless there are essential needs. As a result, nearly 39.9 million California residents are affected.

This rule was set on Thursday, March 19, 2020, local time. However, employees who work in places such as supermarkets, drug stores, gas stations, laundry services, police, and banks are still allowed to work.

The purpose of this lockdown is to reduce the transmission curve of the Coronavirus COVID-19. California is one of the most severely affected areas in the United States, with more than a thousand patients.

"CA (California) issued mandatory orders from one state to remain at home. Those who work in critical sectors must keep working. Shopping, drug stores, banks, and other sectors will remain open," Governor Newsom said via Twitter.

Based on official orders on the government website, people may leave the house if they carry out essential activities, such as buying food and medicine. When they leave the house, they have to do social distancing.

"Californians must have access to essential items such as food, medicine, and health services. When people leave their homes or residences to obtain or carry out the above activities, or facilitate these critical activities, they must implement social distancing along time, "the California government explained on its official website.

The places that must be closed in California are restaurants, theaters, entertainment venues, gyms, and public events are canceled.

The California government did not explain when this lockdown will stop.
